21-Day Walk by Faith

The 21-day trek deep into our hearts has begun! Each day through September 22, we are committed to walk by faith. We will dare to believe in the dreams God whispered to us.

Since God is the One who created us and our dreams, we start by sitting at His mighty feet. This journey is between you and God. The next few weeks are designed to help you confirm and connect the desires of your heart with your Abba Father.

While writing His Last Words, it struck me how many times I try to get out there and do things on my own. I am a task-driven, list-making fool. Fool being the operative word!

Each day of this journey, we must begin by remembering some of the last words Jesus spoke to His disciples:

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ~ John 15:5

Apart from God we can do nothing. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Abide means to keep or stay with. We must stay near to God if we want those tiny images in our hearts to become reality in our lives. Today, in my devotional (Streams in the Deserts) a phrase rolled over my pride and made a dent in my heart: “Not overwork but overflow.”

Nothing gets accomplished by my overwork. Rather, my dreams will sprout and blossom from overflow ~ when I allow myself to be filled to overflowing with God’s presence, Christ’s goodness. Overflow, not overwork.

Second Assignment: get a journal to write in and get connected with a church that fills you up.

In the picture above, I am holding the journal that I recently began writing in each morning. In the picture below, you can see my journal and my church bulletin. Can you believe my church is doing “Daring Faith” right now?

I love it when the Almighty lets you know that He cares about what your are doing! God sees our 21-day Walk by Faith.  Until the next post, make time each day to sit with God. Talk to Him. Then, write in your journal, whatever comes from your heart.

No self-editing, my friends. No one is going to read this but you. Go ahead and put into words the dream you think God wants you to pursue. Write your fears, your obstacles, your concerns. But, also write how you want this dream to bring God glory.

I leave you with this song, The Voice of Truth. We are going to start listening to that small, still voice inside our hearts, the voice of Truth, the voice of our Creator. We will battle back doubt, fear, insecurity. We will be daring.

We are going to abide in Christ and overflow from our time with Him.

Until next time…happy dreaming in your journals!
